“Decent selection of snacks and drinks. We bought 2 bags of chips, some microwave popcorn, some mango juice, a bottle of coke, a "cheap" bottle of wine, and a bar of soap. The cashier did some quick conversion to USD in her head and somehow the total came to $58 (USD). I asked if the cashier only took cash (which is why I assumed she had done the "conversion" to USD) but to my surprise she said I could use a card. She still charged my card in USD even though she could have processed the transaction in Eastern Caribbean Dollars and my card would have done the conversion. I guess I should have insisted the transaction be processed in ECD but it was my first purchase on the island so I didn't think to do it. Bottom line, we felt swindled and I think the cashier knew she was overcharging us and did it anyway. Limin is less than a KM down the road and they processed my purchase correctly (Bottle of wine, 6 corona, a lime and a small bottle of whiskey cost roughly $30 USD).”
