While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, SALT has faced some criticism regarding consistency in food preparation, with one guest reporting an overcooked pork chop on two separate occasions, and another noting that the curry lacked expected flavor depth. The culinary offerings at SALT receive frequent praise, with the Johnny Cake emerging as a standout dish that guests repeatedly describe as "awesome" and "the famous" local specialty. Other menu items like ceviche and desserts receive consistent commendation for their quality and presentation, with one reviewer noting that the dessert was "perfectly touched." However, the restaurant does show some variability in execution, with occasional reports of dishes not meeting expectations—such as a curry that some found "not super flavorful" or pork chops that were overcooked despite specific requests. Despite these isolated incidents, the majority of guests leave impressed by the high-end, albeit sometimes "fussy," cuisine and the overall dining experience that combines excellent food with an exceptional atmosphere.
In their own words
“I was very disappointed in my experience at Salt tonight. Last time I was there, I had an over cooked pork chop. Because I have had seafood the last 10 days, I wanted to try the pork chop and was very clear that I did not want it overcooked. Well it came out well done, and white, and dry. Not as bad as last year but... I will say the bartender made a fabulous martini and at my request, muddled cilantro in it. That took a while which was not a problem, but they brought my hot soup before they brought my pre dinner martini. When I spoke to them about it, she just said OK and walked away. Someone needs to do some serious training in proper service. It seems Four Seasons has gone downhill, even though they had a beautiful new design. I will say however, imo they have ruined what was a gorgeous sunset bar that was previously sophisticated and serene, and made it into a sports bar with 3 or 4 large TV 's. Not bad if you are at Applebee's but Four Seasons? The mattress d' or Manager said she would "take care of it" when I told her about the pork chop but turns out she meant free dessert. I could have sent it back but just didn't feel like the hassle.”
“I had the best time at Salt! The atmosphere was amazing, and the hospitality was truly exceptional. Didy, the host, and Farrah, our server, created such a wonderful experience for us. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with enthusiasm, and genuine kindness. Throughout the evening, Farrah and the team made us feel valued and well cared for. We absolutely loved the Johnny Cake, the famous Anguillian salt, and the thoughtful surprise birthday celebration they arranged for me. Thank you for making our evening so special. You made us feel incredibly welcomed to the island, and we couldn’t have asked for a better first experience. We can’t wait to come back!”
“Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The kids loved the butter noodles, which was great for kids options. Usually, my kids aren’t very picky but they just wanted a simple dinner. We got the ceviche which was amazing and the Johnny cake was awesome too. Our server was amazing and gave, the kids, virgin Mojitos, which they liked she was great. The dessert was perfectly touched. The photo below is our view from the restaurant also welcome Drink was amazing.”
