In their own words
“I honestly don’t understand all the 5-star reviews because this was by far our worst meal in Anguilla. We started with the meatballs, and they tasted frozen—dry and not very flavorful. I ordered the four-cheese ravioli (pictured), and the cream sauce was thin and watery, barely coating the pasta, with almost no flavor. My husband ordered the lasagna, and he said it tasted like a frozen dinner. They also appeared to be using Kraft-style grated Parmesan instead of freshly grated Parmesan, which really surprised me for an Italian restaurant. For $154, I expected a quality Italian meal. Instead, it tasted more like reheated frozen food than something made in a restaurant. Honestly, it was one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve had in years, especially considering the price. The service itself was lacking and not friendly. Our bill for two drinks, an appetizer, and two entrées came to $154 after taxes and a 15% service charge—which is normal in Anguilla, so that wasn’t the issue. What bothered me was how our waitress handled the tip. Before we even had a chance to look over the bill, she asked how much extra we’d like to leave, and when my husband said we’d be leaving cash, she stood there while he counted it out. It made us feel pressured to tip more than we had planned. We had intended to leave an additional 5%, bringing the total tip to 20%, but instead we ended up leaving another 15% on top of the included service charge just so we could leave. Maybe we just caught an off night, but I honestly felt misled by the reviews. As someone who’s Italian and has eaten at plenty of great Italian restaurants throughout the Northeast and NYC, and after having some incredible meals everywhere else in Anguilla this week, this wasn’t just our worst meal on the island—it was one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve had in years. There are so many better restaurants here, and I wouldn’t come back.”
“We visited the island last week and had the opportunity to dine here twice. I can honestly say that the lobster pasta (linguine I believe) was probably the best pasta I have ever had…….. and that’s saying a lot because we are from Chicago and there are many fine Italian restaurants here. The staff was warm and welcoming and we definitely felt appreciated. If you are ever on the island, do yourself a favor and swing by once or twice, you will not be disappointed!”
“I literally ALMOST NEVER leave reviews…this place is 100% worth it. THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IM ANGUILLA NOT ONLY IS FOOD PHENOMENAL But the live music on Friday specifically (unlike other live music on the Ilsand) is so heart warming, you leave full, not just from the food, but with your spirit… THE BEST PLACE IN ANGUILLA HANDS DOWN”
“Everything was great — the views from the restaurant and the food. The staff made it extra great. They were all so kind and accommodating. They even took pictures of us at sunset — like 25 pictures to get alllllll the angles — immense dedication!! I loved everything we had. Definitely have dinner here if you have the chance!”
