The establishment is particularly renowned for its stunning oceanfront location, which offers guests breathtaking views of Meads Bay while they enjoy their meals. The restaurant's menu showcases a commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients with an emphasis on seafood specialties. GUEST EXPERIENCE: Guest reviews of Jacala Beach Restaurant present a fascinating dichotomy, with the majority of patrons expressing exceptional satisfaction while a minority report significant disappointment. The positive reviews consistently highlight three key elements: the quality of food, the beauty of the location, and the excellence of service. Many visitors specifically mention returning to Jacala multiple times during their stays, with one guest noting they've made it a point to visit during every trip to Anguilla over the past four years. The restaurant appears to have cultivated a loyal following drawn to its consistently high-quality offerings and memorable dining experiences. Conversely, the negative reviews, though fewer in number, are quite vocal about poor service and subpar food. One particularly critical review describes the staff as "rude" and suggests an alternative restaurant instead. Another guest recounts an incident where they felt treated with "arrogance and condescension" by a staff member upon arrival, which they found shocking given the typically warm hospitality of Anguilla. This stark contrast in experiences suggests that while Jacala generally delivers outstanding service, there may be occasional inconsistencies in staff demeanor or training that impact some guests' experiences negatively. Despite these occasional lapses, the overwhelming majority of reviews celebrate Jacala as a "trip to Paris on Anguilla" with "divine flavors and textures" that create a truly special dining experience.
In their own words
“Jacala is my favorite restaurant in Anguilla. I’ve been coming to the island for the past four years, and every single trip I make sure I come back here. The food is consistently incredible. Everything tastes fresh and high quality. The lobster is amazing, the escargot is perfect, and the Niçoise salad was a huge, beautiful portion. I also had the mahi-mahi with lemongrass and it was so good. Even the little things stand out, like the bread and the beet soup. The desserts are delicate and just the right amount of sweet. The cocktails are fantastic. Jennifer prepares a really outstanding bay leaf-infused gimlet that is just out of this world, and she has it down to perfection. I keep coming back for that. What really makes Jacala special, though, is the people. The team is warm, attentive, and you can feel how much pride they take in what they do. They make you feel seen and special every time you walk in, and I truly love seeing them again each time I return. Every visit feels welcoming and taken care of. Sitting right by the beach, looking at the ocean with a great meal and a cocktail in hand, it’s just the perfect Anguilla experience. If you’re visiting the island, Jacala is a must.”
“We wanted a special Christmas Eve lunch and happily returned to Jacala. We love the oceanfront setting, the chic yet relaxed vibe, and have always enjoyed the food. We arrived early to settle into the loungers and savor a cappuccino while watching the waves crash below. Kim made the best cappuccino of the trip—perfectly dry and full of flavor—which set the tone for a leisurely start. We had reserved a corner table and pre-ordered, as we had a flight to catch. My daughter loved her lobster BLT, and my Niçoise salad was beautifully composed. The tuna was a small thin portion but the flavours were nice. The true standout, however, was the house-made bread served with Anguilla salt and a divine EVOO. As a committed carb lover, I could have happily made a meal of the bread alone. My daughter also declared their house rosé the best we had on the entire trip. Jacala is a stunning place to dine—absolutely not to be missed.”
“Simply outstanding food with outstanding service. My husband and I had a superb meal tonight: a tasty conch ceviche, a delicious beet soup with feta morsels and hazelnuts (a combination of divine flavors and textures), and then a seafood risotto that was transcendent. Our rum punches were also made with real fruit juices. This was a trip to Paris on Anguilla.”
“Food, location (stunning Meads Bay😍😍), and service are top tier. I've stopped by on multiple occasions while solo and group traveling (during two different seasons) and won't pass up the opportunity to go there again whenever I'm in the area. The crayfish is to die for!”
